019: Youmin Wang et al., “2D broadband beamsteering with large-scale MEMS optical phased array“, Optica, 6, 557-562 (2019). Link
In collaboration with UC Berkeley, we designed a phase modulation MEMS for optical beam steering. This new type of MEMS is fast and efficient, and can be useful for LIDAR or optical switch for data center.

This patent is about how to use a spatial light modulator to steer a light beam and compensate for the chromatic aberration in a monostatic LIDAR configuration.
