Tucson in January
The city of Tucson is situated in the Sonoran Desert at an elevation of approximately 2,500 feet. Typical weather in January is sunny, with average daytime highs near 65F and average nighttime lows near 40F. Winter is the “rainy season”, meaning that the occasional Pacific Weather system may bring rain to the desert; in that case weather forecasts bring plenty of warning.
The University of Arizona is located on an easily walkable campus measuring roughly 1 square mile. Nice weather and ample green space makes it pleasant to explore the area on foot. The University is open for winter sessions during the Winter School and Workshop, though some shops and restaurants will be closed until the spring semester starts Jan. 13.
If you are arriving a day early or leaving a day late, the area has much to explore depending on your interests and time available. Contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
