Position Description:

The Alcon Belmont R&D team is looking for an intern to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2024 at the Lake Forest, CA location. Alcon interns will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals but will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly.  Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

We are looking for students from the following engineering majors: Optics

As a Summer 2024 Intern at Alcon, you would work with the Alcon team on the development a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind accommodating IOL. Activities may include:

Experimental measurements, data analysis, optical simulation and report results.

Hands on: lasers, fiber optics, optical measurement techniques. Optical simulation using ZEMAX, Analysis of experimental data using Matlab

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.

Must be pursuing a degree in Optical Sciences/Engineering

Undergraduates and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship
