Description
POC and request an interview: Wenrui Cai Wenrui.cai@apple.com
Design, develop, and launch next-generation laser-sensing technologies.
The Laser Sensing Hardware group designs sensors and illuminators for Apple products, including flood module for FaceID system and behind display proximity sensor to enable dynamic island. This multi-disciplinary group of engineers are responsible for architecture, design, and manufacturing development of new sensing solutions.
Join us in crafting solutions the world doesn't know of yet.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong background in optical design (geometric, diffractive and radiometric) and tolerance analysis.
- Strong background in ray-tracing software Zemax or Code V or LightTools.
- Hands-on experience with optical lab characterization, including lasers, power meters, cameras/detectors, polarizers, optical metrology
(spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and free space optics), and time-resolved measurements. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid teamwork and leadership skills.
Potential Responsibilities:
- Model optical component and system to predict performance or substantiate hypotheses for unexpected observations.
- Prototype characterization in optical lab to validate designs. Failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and problem solving
In all of this work, you need to be an effective communicator — both to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to executive management on key developments / issues.
Education:
Degree in Optics, Physics or equivalent. B.S./M.S. and industry experience, or Ph.D.
