We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide overall engineering support to optical fabrication, specifically lens manufacturing using various methods.  You will have opportunities to provide independent review of processes, lead improvement efforts and drive process improvements to closure.  In addition, an important aspect of your role will be to interact with technicians to provide sound technical guidance.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, reviews and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion of designs to manufacturing processes and metrology/test as part of the NPI process.
  • Apply lessons-learned and develop standardized design and process criteria across all product lines.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields
  • 2+ years’ experience in product manufacturing, optics preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with optical metrology using Zygo Interferometers and other metrology equipment preferred
  • Experience with SPC, FMEA, CAD/CAM software(G-Code), and programming languages preferred
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles preferred
