OPTI 471A: Advanced Optics Laboratory

Syllabus. This course is taught each fall and is taken by Senior-level undergraduates. It involves a weekly lecture and lab assignments. The labs cover radiometry, spectrometers, acousto-optic modulators, polarimetry, luminescence, Faraday effect, stress-optic effect, Sagnac interferometers, fiber optics, microscopy, mode-locked lasers, and Schlieren imaging. Course materials are posted on D2L: http://d2l.arizona.edu.

OPTI 567: Nanophotonics

Syllabus. This course is taught in the spring and is intended for graduate students. It covers the interaction of light with objects smaller than the optical wavelength. The course focuses on the fundamental electromagnetic interactions in these systems and the hot topics in nanophotonics over the past two decades. Less emphasis is placed on device engineering or integration. Course materials are posted on D2L: http://d2l.arizona.edu.
