Amit Kumar Jha

Amit Kumar Jha received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Techno Main, Salt Lake (formerly known as Techno India) affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology in 2017. He then worked as a visiting research student at Nonlinear Dynamics Group, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, India with advisor Dr. A.N.Sekar Iyengar till 2019. He joined the Wyant College of Optical Sciences in the Fall of 2019 as a Master’s student and worked in the University of Arizona Space Astrophysics Lab (UASAL) with advisor Prof. Ewan S.Douglas. He is currently a Ph.D. student (2021-2026) at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences working in the Quantum Photonics Application Group with advisor Prof. Saikat Guha.

Amit’s research interests lie in mathematical modeling, simulation, astronomical instrumentation, and quantum imaging and sensing. He is currently involved in addressing the 1D optical superresolution problem of two incoherent point sources from the Point Spread Function (PSF) Engineering perspective.
