Material

  • Laser plate
  • Screw
  • Plastic tube
  • Washers (3 ‘’ outside diameter)

  • Coupler

Purpose

  • The holder for laser source, and ease to collimate the laser beams.

Procedure

  • Cut two 3.5cm long tube from a long PVC pipe (3’’ diameter). The length has to equal to two times of the back focal distance of the lens.
  • Stable a lens (7cm focal length) on a 3’’ diameter washer by Epoxy so that the curve surface faces downward.
  • Then glue the washer on the other end of one tube.
  • Use a coupler to connect two tubes together, so that the distance between two ends is 7cm.
  • Place and stable a big plastic plate on one end of one tube.
  • Use 2 plastic screws to stable the laser plate on the big plastic plate.
  • Align the laser so that the beam coming up is well collimated. Put a coupler at the back of the laser model to balance. Glue one washer at the end to cover the back.
  • Put on coupler at the end to balance the tube

Expectation

  • The laser plates have to be at the center of the tube. The laser beams have to collimated. All the dimensions have to be correct.
