Purpose
- The holder for laser source, and ease to collimate the laser beams.
Procedure
- Cut two 3.5cm long tube from a long PVC pipe (3’’ diameter). The length has to equal to two times of the back focal distance of the lens.
- Stable a lens (7cm focal length) on a 3’’ diameter washer by Epoxy so that the curve surface faces downward.
- Then glue the washer on the other end of one tube.
- Use a coupler to connect two tubes together, so that the distance between two ends is 7cm.
- Place and stable a big plastic plate on one end of one tube.
- Use 2 plastic screws to stable the laser plate on the big plastic plate.
- Align the laser so that the beam coming up is well collimated. Put a coupler at the back of the laser model to balance. Glue one washer at the end to cover the back.
- Put on coupler at the end to balance the tube
Expectation
- The laser plates have to be at the center of the tube. The laser beams have to collimated. All the dimensions have to be correct.
