Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Undergraduate students have three options to conduct research with the group:

1. For credit
   • Students can earn Directed Research or Independent Study credits by working on a project and presenting the results at the end of the semester. OSE students in the Optics Track can use up to 6 credits towards Tech Electives; those in other majors should consult their advisor on how the credits could count in their degree.

2. Federal Work-Study (FWS)
   • Eligible students have the opportunity to conduct research while being compensated through their FWS awards.

3. Paid positions
   • Students may be hired as part-time employees and paid for an hourly wage.
