Class Textbook
There is no required textbook for this course. Students will be responsible for materials covered in class lectures. However, the following 3 references are strongly recommended:
- A bound copy of Class Notes will be available from the UA bookstore for purchase. These notes will serve as reference for material covered in approximately the first half of the course and it is strongly recommended that you purchase a copy. Many of the class lectures will follow these notes.
- If you have not had a previous course in quantum mechanics, the following textbook is also strongly recommended for material covered during the first half of the course: Introduction to Quantum Mechanics (2nd edition), by David J. Griffiths.

Portions of the following textbook will be used for the second half of the course and is available online for free from the UA library: Laser Physics, by Peter W. Milonni and Joseph H. Eberly
