About Us
The OEFF group in College of Optical Sciences (OSC) has performed many fine large optics projects to date. The OEFF group’s capability fully covers Design and Development of optical systems, Fabrication and Testing of large aspheric optical surfaces, Integration and Control, and Test and Verification.
The OEFF group understands modern optics for Astronomy and Aerospace applications require:
- Extreme environmental requirements (Vacuum or Cryogenic)
- Optical and Opto-mechanical engineering and analysis
- Precision Motion Control and Software
- Very high asphericity
- Excellent smoothness in various advanced materials (Glass, ULE/Zerodur, SiC, etc.)
- Tight edge margin
- High accuracy in surface metrology and geometric parameters
- Very tight fabrication schedule
- System engineering and configuration management
Please visit our current Projects page, Past Projects page, Capabilities page, and Facilities pages for which all of these items demonstrate the OEFF group’s qualification for meeting the above challenges.
