Plots both the s and p polarization curves and the phases. It can also plot either the amplitude or the intensity. It can take a very large stack of different layers with no limit.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Getting Started:<\/h3>\n<p>The Thin Film Calculator is accessed through the Accessories menu under the name \u2018TFT Calculator\u201d or from the Custom Pattern Panel.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Notes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>the opening screen is always set to the commonly used values<\/li>\n<li>on the layer manager screen, click OK to save the layers used<\/li>\n<li>an error message appears if there are no layers in the manager<\/li>\n<li>the layer manager in this calculator works the same way as the thin film target layer manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Parameters:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Index of Incident Medium:<\/strong> this is the index of the starting location<\/li>\n<li><strong>Index of Substrate:<\/strong> this is the last index in the stack<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wavelength:<\/strong> wavelength of the light in meters<\/li>\n<li><strong>From angle ___ to ___ :<\/strong> the chosen range of angles to make the plots, in degrees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Buttons:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plot the amplitude:<\/strong> press this button to just graph the amplitude of reflection or transmission<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plot the intensity:<\/strong> press this to plot the intensity instead, (amplitude squared)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save Plot Values:<\/strong> check this box to save the actual numbers used to make the plot.
