Hayden Kim

I am a first-year Master’s student in Optical Sciences, conducting research on olfactory receptor-ligand binding by leveraging a whispering gallery mode microtoroid optical resonator. I am concurrently developing a low-cost, easily replicable DIY refractometer aimed at quantifying the quality of commonplace substances. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Optical Sciences and Engineering from the University of Arizona with a minor in Mathematics. Through my undergrad studies and past internships, I have had numerous opportunities to develop my optical design and engineering skills. I intended to explore the field of photonics and biomedical optics while pursuing my Master’s degree, and that is why I find myself here today in the Little Sensor Lab.
