Symbols dominate in this unusual design, denoting an emotional state rather than a realistic interpretation. The gesso coating contributes to the brilliance. The design is from a small area in another painting, an idea which I use frequently and which we shall meet again. This painting was in the Annual Show of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild in 1990.
