Multi-Order Diffractive Lenslet Arrays
Three lenslet arrays were designed and fabricated in Dr. Milster’s lab for use in Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensors. These arrays are multi-order diffractive arrays that feature concentric Fresnel zones. These types of lenses have been made in used but not yet in the form of an array of such a small size. First, the arrays were tested in just 628 nm to confirm the accuracy of the intended focal lengths and f-numbers. This test proved their quality and our team then did a full visible spectrum characterization. Using a supercontinuum laser and directing it through a monochromator, the arrays were imaged again, through focus, from 450-750 nm by 25 nm. Thus far the data looks promising in confirming a simulation that was created in Dr. Milster’s lab of the behavior of the arrays in the visible spectrum.
