Welcome

The XII Ultrafast Dynamics & Metastability and Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics conference will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 – Friday, September 27, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, USA. For the day after the conference, Saturday Sep. 28, we are considering an excursion, provided enough people are interested (for more details see the Explore Tucson page).

The objective of this Symposium is to bring together leading scientists and researchers from all around the world in order to exchange ideas in the areas of ultrafast dynamics in matter, physical effects in condensed-matter systems that are not in thermal-equilibrium (for example transient phenomena in semiconductors, magnetic materials and superconductors), ultrafast dynamics in low-dimensional systems, non-equilibrium metastable states of matter, and nonlinear optics. It continues a series of similar events, including the following recent conferences,

IX Conference on Ultrafast Dynamics & Metastability and Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics, Georgetown University, 2022

X International Symposium Ultrafast Dynamics & Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics, Greece, 2023

XI International Symposium Ultrafast Dynamics & Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics, Greece, 2024

Topics presented at Ultrafast Dynamics and Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics conference series include those recognized with recent Nobel Prizes-both in Ultrafast Dynamics with the 2023 Nobel Prize for Atto-Science in Physics, and in Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics with the 2023 Nobel Prize for Quantum Dots in Chemistry. The introductory talk at the 2023 conference in Crete was given by Nobel Laureate Prof. Donna Strickland.

This conference is meant as a service to the scientific community; it is a not-for-profit event.
